The first, and probably for a long time, the only outlet centre in Slovakia, which wanted to be similar to Parndorf in Austria, is losing tenants, the Sme daily reported.

The One Fashion Outlet 1 shopping centre in Voderady (Trnava Region) opened five years ago.

The outlet centre, which had recently offered clothing brands from older collections for considerably lower prices, went bankrupt this summer and most shops did not extend their rental contracts. Most contracts were concluded just for five years, which is exactly the period from when the center opened to the public, Sme reported.

No investor in sight

The owners of the firm that owns the centre say that they do not have any information about a possible purchaser though rumour has it that the centre is for sale.

The last buyer he knew of was interested in a purchase at the end of June. It was reportedly a Slovak client, said Matej Kostúr, the authorised representative of One Fashion Outlet 1. The outlet is currently administered by the bankruptcy trustee who, together with the biggest creditor, VÚB bank, decided to close down the premises on October 31, Sme wrote.

One of the reasons is the expiration of several rental contracts, as bankruptcy trustee Ivan Ikrényi confirmed for the daily.

The center cannot be sold until a meeting of creditors takes place, Sme wrote.
