THE SLOVAK parliament approved the appointment of Martin Barto as deputy governor of the National Bank of Slovakia January 20, according to the TASR news agency.
Of the 121 lawmakers present for the vote, 71 supported Barto.
Barto is a member of the NBS Bank Board and former chief analyst with local bank Slovenská sporiteľňa. Finance Minister Ivan Mikloš put him forward for the post.
