THE SLOVAK Plastic Cluster was established in Nitra in early January.
“The highest concentration of companies focusing on plastic production is in the Nitra Region,” Zuzana Liptayová from the cluster told TASR, adding that there are more than 100 companies making plastic products which are interested in cluster membership.
Further development of the employees’ skills and the quality of education are two of the main aims of the cluster. It also seeks to achieve increased added value and better competitiveness of its members as well as promoting and representing the member companies.
Through the cluster, the companies are planning to help improve the system of primary and secondary education as well as life-long learning for people working in the sector.
Another big plan is to create a database of companies in Slovakia working in production and processing of plastics and companies which provide services for this sector, TASR wrote.
The founding members of the Slovak Plastic Cluster are the Nitra Self-Governing Region, the Secondary Vocational School in Nitra, VUSAPL Nitra, A-Omega Malacky, ESOX Liptovský Ján and Unomedical Michalovce.
