Europe’s largest tech firm by market capitalisation – is expanding its Slovak operations, defying a broader slowdown in the country’s IT sector.
While many firms are scaling back after years of rapid growth during the pandemic, SAP is hiring dozens of new developers in Bratislava and Košice, according to reporting by Slovak business magazine Index.
The company, valued at €338bn, is best known for its enterprise software systems. Globally, it announced mass redundancies in 2023 as part of a streamlining programme – yet in Slovakia, the opposite is taking place.

“We’re currently hiring over 45 programmers for both junior and senior roles,” said Ján Ružarovský, managing director of SAP Labs Slovakia. The new positions will focus on mobile apps, internal tools, and broader SAP software development.
