SIEMENS IT Solutions and Services, s.r.o. became a division of Siemens, s.r.o. as of October 1 this year. It was formerly a wholly-owned affiliate of Siemens, the SITA newswire reported on September 29. Its parent company, Siemens AG of Germany, decided on the merger of the two firms in order to achieve what it called “greater synergy effects”. As of September 2007 Siemens IT Solutions and Services employed 462 people in eight Slovak cities.
