SKY Media Manufacturing SA, a Swiss producer of CDs and DVDs, plans to open a plant in the Slovak town Nové Mesto nad Váhom, in the Trenčín region, in October this year, the news wire TASR reported.
The construction of the Sk4 billion (€100 million) plant should begin in May and combine existing facilities with greenfield development.
The plant is expected to employ around 1,000 people and produce 60 million CDs and DVDs per month.
The German company Steag will supply the plant with technology.
Sky Media Manufacturing SA, part of the Sky Tec Group SA, is the European leader in optical media production, with an annual capacity of 100 million CDs and 5 million DVDs.
