THE ALUMINIUM smelter Slovalco recorded an after-tax profit of Sk1.4 billion ($28.8 million) in 2001, up Sk371 million year-on year. Slovalco also improved workplace safety in 2001 when it recorded only two injuries, the least in the company's history.
