SLOVENSKÁ Sporiteľňa (SLSP) bank recorded Sk468 million ($10.5 million) in net profit in the first half of 2002, about half the figure in the same period last year, because of increased dues to a national deposit protection fund.
The bank also reported that it held about a quarter of all client deposits in Slovakia, with people, institutions and firms having Sk172 billion on its accounts. The bank showed an over 30 per cent growth since 1H01 in lending to Sk28 billion, with Sk21.6 billion extended to the corporate sector.
