This is the first time in its history that Plantex has offered fresh strawberries at this time of year.

“Their availability is certainly caused by weather but we have also planted strawberries that bear fruit all year round,” Peter Kováč from Plantex explained, as quoted by the SITA newswire.

The surroundings of Piešťany, where their plantations are located, have not yet been hit by frost. About three tonnes of strawberries are waiting in Borovce. They need to be eaten fast.

“November harvest strawberries are hard but sweet,” Kováč added, as quoted by SITA.
