CONCERT: THE ORIGINAL musical concept behind Baroque Minimal is to highlight the minimalist principle in classical music. OPERA GALA: The new season in the Slovak National Theatre starts with a Gala-concert dedicated to Visegrad Group' twentieth anniversary (V4 includes Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary), offering apart from Slovak performers also guests from abroad: Katarzyna Oles-Blacha (PL, soprano), Tomasz Kuk (Pl, tenor); Atilla B. Kiss (HU, bass), Borbála Keszei (HU, soprano); and Pavla Vykopalová (CZ, soprano) and Richard Novák (CZ, bass). The programme includes arias and duettos from Donizetti's, Verdi's, Erkel's, Moniusek's, Suchoň's, Smetana's and Dvořák's operas.

CITY FEAST: The already traditional City Days will host the 354-th Radvaň Market (Radvaň is a Bystrica borough), Market of Folk Arts, opne museums and galleries, historical march through city by King Mathias (Corvinus) on Friday, with Balkan bras (Boban i Marko Markovič orchestra), Gypsy music (Bartošovci from nearby Čierny Balog) and with numerous musical genres and blends throughout the whole weekend.

CONCERT: Hlasy pre zajtrajšok / Voices for Tomorrow is a European project of integration through art initiated by the international Yehudi Menuhin Foundation and the NGO ETP Slovensko. In September, Hlasy pre zajtrajšok will offer artistic workshops for Roma children from Moldava nad Bodvou and Košice (some lead by Ida Kelarová, in the photo); and on September 7, at 19:30 in the House of Arts (the residence of the State Philharmonic) in Košice, professional performers give a concert, as will 15 youths from Moldava nad Bodvou and members of the Slumdog Theatre.
