THE HERITAGE exhibition presents the best and most beautiful works by Koloman Sokol-Sambo (1902-2003), one of the most acclaimed Slovak painters of the 20th century. The exhibition of 68 works is even more rare with respect to the fact that during his life the master never permitted to select more works for an exhibition or sale. HELMETS of Fire Fighters is a unique exhibition of fire fighters' helmets from various countries and periods from a private collection of Pavol Pokorádi, the biggest collector of fire fighters' helmets in Slovakia. He is a proud owner of 298 historical and contemporary helmets from 38 countries, of which the farthest are Australia, New Zealand, the USA, and Tasmania. The most precious pieces include a leather helmet from 1880, and cork and brass helmets from China, Mongolia, England, the Netherlands, Denmark and France. The oldest helmet, an adjusted soldier's helmet from the Napoleon era, dates back to 1852. The exhibition is open Tuesdays from 9:00 to 18:00, Wednesday to Fridays from 9:00 to 17:00, and Sunday from 13:00 to 18:00 until September 2.
