TO MARK Mother's Day, the Včielka centre for mothers in cooperation with the Union of Mother Centres will hold a Family Concert for Adults and Children at the Národné tenisové centrum (National Tennis Centre) on May 7. The third year of the event focuses more on children, for which there will be lots of attractions, competitions, performances and gifts. An attempt to make it into the Guinness Book of Records for the highest number of people pushing prams along a one-mile route will take place between 15:30 and 16:30. Last year 108 prams covered the course. The organisers will announce the best family-friendly facilities - shops, restaurants and groceries. Admission for families will cost between Sk30 and Sk50. WESTERN SLOVAKIA
WITHIN the new media culture festival, Multiplace, the Ján Koniarek Gallery (GJK) in Trnava hosts two exhibitions. The Synagogue - Centre of Contemporary Art (at Halenárska 2) presents the Shift, a project referring to the keyboard's "shift" button by two young artists, Dan Hanzlík and Pavel Mrkus. Both authors are concerned with an iconography of the present and confront the universe/God with human creativity. The exhibition is open Tue-Fri 9:00-17:00, Sat-Sun 14:00-18:00 until May 30. Tickets cost Sk20. The second exhibition, Media S-Cream, takes place at the Koppel House at Zelený kríček 3. The multi-artist project is a probe into today's visual culture in Slovakia and introduces actual guises of media images in a wider spectrum - from documentary to manipulated photography, computer prints, slides, video, DVD and site-specific works. LIVE MUSIC: European Tour of Stars - About 200 musicians, including Karel Gott, Lucie Bílá, Štefan Margita, the 19-member American army ensemble The Jazz Ambassadors, and the 80-member Czech Great Symphonic Orchestra of the Žofín palace, hold the only concert in Slovakia within the Europe 60 Years Without War tour.
