EXHIBITION: Slavonic Life under the Zobor in Early Middle Ages – The unique interactive exhibition brings pictures from Slavonic tribes living near the Zobor mountain. Visitors can see the culture, country and habits of the native people from the Great Moravian Empire and after its collapse (from 6th until 10th century), through many aspects of life. It is divided into various thematic parts: clothes, jewellery, economy, handicraft, living, household equipment, food and military. The dominant part of the display is the replica of a Slavonic colony. EXHIBITION: Do You Know Music Tools? – The Western Slovakian Museum / Západoslovenské múzeum brings an educational exhibition, striving to present different kinds of musical tools: string, brass instruments, drums and key instruments. The string instruments are represented by violin, viola and cello. These instruments were popular in the first decades of the 20th century. Zither was popular in the southern part of the Hungarian Empire among Slovaks in the 17th century. WORLD MUSIC: Carrousel (SUI) - After more than 450 played concerts in Switzerland and abroad from 2009 the band Carrousel will perform in Slovakia. OPERA: Maria Stuarda – This opera was created from translation of drama by Friedrich Schiller by Andrea Maffei. The libretto for the opera is written by Giuseppe Bardari and world premiere of the opera was present on December 30, 1835 in La Scala, Milano. Conducted by Igor Bulla, directed by Gianfranco de Bosio and the choirmaster is Iveta Popovičová. Maria Stuarda is performed by Adriana Kohútková, with the choir, orchestra and ballet of the State Opera. Concert-master is Oldřich Husák. The story of Maria Stuarda is of a dispute between authoritative Queen of England Elizabeth I. of the House of Tudor and lively Queen of Scots Mary Stuart whose life ends tragically.
