Tis’ the Season to be jolly! Let’s rejoice and be merry!
The International Women’s Club of Bratislava (IWCB) proudly celebrated another resounding success with the 2024 Charity Christmas Bazaar. Held in the heart of Bratislava, this year’s event brought together a dazzling array of cultures, communities, and causes, uniting over 34 countries under one roof to support charitable projects across Slovakia, as Kaja Frecerova, this year’s bazaar coordinator, attested.
Viera Buchtova, IWCB’s President, summarized it as follows: “The bazaar was a feast for the senses, offering visitors a chance to savor international cuisine, explore handcrafted goods, and embrace the festive spirit through cultural performances. This vibrant gathering of nations reflected not only the diversity of our community but also the shared commitment to making a positive impact.”
Thanks to the unwavering support of embassies, volunteers, sponsors, and visitors, this year’s bazaar achieved stellar attendance of 3000 visitors, and fundraising totals. Elisabeth Laursen, the IWCB Charity Coordinator remarked: “Every euro raised will go directly to support local charities, ensuring that vulnerable individuals and families receive the assistance they need.”
The IWCB Charity Christmas Bazaar is more than just an event—it is a testament to the power of collaboration and compassion. From the tireless efforts of volunteers to the generosity of attendees, the success of this event highlights what we can achieve when we come together with a shared purpose.
Our member, Vivi Paraskevi Tsaparidou shared: “This is the second year that I participated at the annual Christmas Bazaar of IWCB on behalf of the Embassy of Cyprus. The first thing that comes to my mind is the enthusiasm and energy of all the ladies of the Club. They all gave their best to organize and make this whole event a great success. It is a joy working for this noble cause, providing a taste of Cyprus. This year was even more special for me, because my daughters participated as volunteers, so the whole family was there.”
As we reflect on this year’s achievements, we are filled with gratitude and inspiration. Our hearts go out to those who are not so fortunate and can’t experience the abundance of the holiday in the warmth of their homes.
