A Slovak soldier dies in Bosnia

His health declined quickly, and he later died in a hospital.

A professional Slovak soldier died in Bosnia and Herzegovina on February 14.

42-year-old major Peter Pavlovský from Zamarovce (Trenčín Region) served in the EUFOR Althea mission. His health condition worsened suddenly on the morning of February 14.

“He was provided medical assistance directly at the Butmir camp in Sarajevo,” said Danka Capáková, spokesperson for the Slovak Defence Ministry, as quoted by the Sme daily. “He was then transported to the hospital where he died.”

The operation in Bosnia and Herzegovina was Pavlovský’s third foreign mission. He previously served in two missions in Afghanistan, Sme wrote.
