THE NEW Citizen’s Alliance (ANO) called its national congress for Saturday, September 13, at which it hopes to sort out the havoc in the party and decide on its future direction.
ANO boss Pavol Rusko said that the delegates will have to solve the situation around Ľubomír Lintner and his group, mostly members of the ANO deputy faction, the daily SME reported.
The deputy faction called on Rusko to leave the faction in which Lintner and his people hold a majority after independent MPs Anton Danko and Ján Drgonec also joined.
The Lintner group is proposing Rusko's former ally Jirko Malchárek to the position of Economy Minister. They also want to prevent Rusko from becoming the member of the parliamentary committee for economy.
Analysts assume that Rusko will most probably join the opposition with deputies Eva Černá, Beata Brestenská and Iveta Henzélyova. Rusko also suggested that his group might pursue early elections as a best solution to the current situation.
