The average monthly wage should exceed Sk17,200(€440) this year, which would be an increase of 8.7 percent on 2004, financial analysts say.

The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) claims that low salaries in the eastern part of the EU are linked to the lower labour productivity, though Slovak labour productivity has been increasing.
