AFTER two months of holidays, Slovak children had their first day of school scheduled on September 3.
About 750,000 children are attending primary and secondary schools across the country this year. Almost 52,000 are going to school for the first time, and about 5,000 delayed the start of their education by one extra year, the Education Ministry told the SITA newswire.
During the next 10 months, children will go to school 189 times. They will receive the mid-year and end-of-year school reports on January 31 and June 27, respectively.
The first holiday students can look forward to will start on October 31 and end on November 2.
