Bathory comes to Slovak theatres

After its premiere on June 28 in Bratislava, and at the International Film Fesitval in Kalrovy Vary, Czech Republic, Juraj Jakubisko’s Bathory comes to Slovak movie theatres on July 10.

After its premiere on June 28 in Bratislava, and at the International Film Fesitval in Kalrovy Vary, Czech Republic, Juraj Jakubisko’s Bathory comes to Slovak movie theatres on July 10.

The historical movie film is the most expensive Central European film in history. It is based on the legend of the Blood Countess of Čachtice Castle (1560-1614) who bathed in the blood of virgins. She is also stated in the Guiness Book of World Records as the biggest murderer of all times.

It is Jakubisko’s fifteenth film. The main character, Alžbeta Báthory, is played by Anna Friel. The cast includes Vincent Regan, Hans Matheson, Karl Roden, Franco Nero,˙Tim Preecea, and also Deana Jakubisková - Horváthová, Bolek Polívka, Marek Vašut, Jiří Mádl, Lucie Vondráčková, Andrej Hryc, Monika Hilmerová and others.
