THE TRANSPORT, Post and Telecommunications Ministry has prepared a legal amendment to regulations dealing with information systems and government services, which should make obtaining things like a business licence or a permit to build a house easier, according to the Hospodárske Noviny business daily.
At the moment obtaining such documents can involve a laborious round of visits to government offices. The new system will be designed to make visiting several offices unnecessary.
"The current 1995 legislation is too old compared to the possibilities we have in informatics and communication technology," said the president of IT association Juraj Sabaka.
If this amendment to the law receives government approval, the new solutions should come into operation during 2005.
