THE BUSINESS Alliance of Slovakia (PAS) welcomes the election of Andrej Kiska into the presidential seat and expects him to contribute to improving the business environment in the country.
“From the activities of Andrej Kiska so far it is clear that he has got sufficient personal experiences with doing business, which he also expressed in his stance to the presidential wish list that PAS submitted to all presidential candidates in March,” PAS executive director Robert Kičina wrote in the official press release.
In the wish list, PAS called on all the candidates to give their views on measures that the future president could take to help better the business environment and thus support economic growth and job creation, and increase the quality of life in Slovakia. Kiska won the survey among those candidates who responded, earning14 out of 15 points.
Kičina noted that Kiska mainly stressed the importance of a well-functioning judiciary and equality before the law, which can be achieved through selecting judges for the Constitutional Court and the Supreme Court who have a high moral profile and a disposition towards improving law enforcement in the country.
“PAS believes the new president of the Slovak Republic, in cooperation with parliament and the government, will fulfil his promises,” Kičina wrote.
