There is a meeting scheduled for March 2 to discuss further moves. MPs of the Free Forum party said they would not support the introduction of tuition fees, which resulted in the withdrawal.

The draft planned tuition fees of up to Sk21,900 (€540) a year and also intended to lift the upper threshold for loans from the current Sk20,000 (€492) to Sk40,000 (€985) a year.

Currently, almost 70,000 students are on strike alert in protest of the institution of the fees. Several Slovak universities have officially joined the protest.
