Private motorways are scheduled to come to Slovakia in the spring of 2008, the Pravda daily wrote on September 3.
Private-public partnership projects are expected to build 140 kilometres of motorways and dual carriageways. The construction will be divided into four packages and the tender for the first two begins in a few weeks.
The advisory company, Mott MacDonald, recommended that the government divide the construction.
Last Friday, Transport Minister Ľubomír Vážny invited heads of the 30 biggest European companies to confirm to them that the government is serious about its plan to build private highways.
