SLOVAK electricity consumers paid €292.5 million in 2013 to help spur investment in renewable energy. The highest amount, €194 million, went to photovoltaic power plants.
The feed-in tariff for energy produced from RES will decrease from the beginning of 2015, the SITA newswire wrote citing the edict of the Regulatory Office for Network Industries.
Investors who built solar power plants between 2009 and 2010 have right to sell it for €430 per megawatt-hour. Those who built such plant in 2014 have right to sell it for less than €100 per megawatt-hour. Producers of wind power will be able to sell it for €62.49 in 2015 while in 2014 it was €70 per megawatt-hour.
Those who produce electricity by burning cereal straw should also expect decrease as guaranteed feed-in tariff in 2015 will be €107.21 per megawatt-hour which is decrease by around €20 in comparison with 2014. In case of energy produced from thermochemical conversion of biomass in gasification generators the feed-in tariff will decrease from around €123 in 2014 to approximately €99 in 2015.
