Czech prime minister Vladimír Špidla and Slovak prime minister Mikuláš Dzurinda completed a 10-kilometre run in the Czech town of Úpici na Trutnovsku hand-in-hand on Saturday.
Špidla thanked Dzurinda for helping him achieve his personal best in the run, and said that the two leaders running together symbolised that Czechs and Slovaks would journey side by side, even when the going got tough.
Both the prime ministers are keen runners. Dzurinda has taken part in both the New York and London marathons.
