A PUBLIC survey carried out in mid-October by the Slovak Statistics Office has found that almost 58 per cent of respondents were in favour of Slovakia's joining Nato, while over 77 per cent were in favour of EU entry.
Slovakia has among the highest rates of public support for joining the two alliances in central and eastern Europe. An invitation to join Nato is expected to be issued at a November summit in Prague, while Slovakia's EU membership bid should be approved at a December summit in Copenhagen.
