An extraordinary parliamentary session proposed by the opposition will be held on Friday, March 6, from 11:00, the office of Parliamentary Chairman Pavol Paška announced on Wednesday.

The opposition parties want to use the session to discuss their proposals to tackle the global economic crisis in Slovakia. They have criticised the government's anti-crisis measures to date as being insufficient. The opposition are proposing tax cuts, reductions in payments to the state, adjustments to the Labour Code and public-tender proceedings and a reduction in the number of state employees. TASR
