Fall in number of flats completed in Bratislava Region

A total of 1,825 new flats were completed in Bratislava Region in the first half of 2011, representing a drop of 411 flats year-on-year, the Statistics Office has announced. Bratislava Region accounted for 29.5 percent of all flats completed in Slovakia between January and June of this year, the TASR newswire wrote. Its share was 3.2 percentage points higher in the same period of 2010.

Bratislava II, Senec and Malacky topped the list of districts in the region with the biggest numbers of new flats. Bratislava V and Bratislava I came bottom. Meanwhile, construction began on a total of 1,198 flats in the first half of 2011, only slightly more than half the number for January-June 2010.

A total of 14,276 flats were under construction nationwide at the end of June 2011, a year-on-year drop of 846.
