Fewer people in Slovakia received unemployment benefits in 2007

The average number of people in Slovakia last year with unemployment benefits was 22,000, as data of the social security provider Sociálna Poisťovňa shows. In 2006, there were nearly 27,000 recipients of unemployment benefits.

The lowest number of people drawing unemployment benefits was last December, when numbers reached 20,100. On the contrary, the highest number of unemployment benefit recipients was in February, with 24,200 eligible persons. SITA
