IN the coming weeks the monopoly fixed-line operator Slovak Telecom will sign the first contracts to share its networks with alternative providers, the Pravda daily reported.
Sovak Telecom's spokesman Radoslav Bielka said the company was in talks with seven operators and with two of the firms an agreement was close.
One potential alternative operator, Dial Telecom (DT), yesterday started offering its services to customers despite not yet reaching an agreement with ST.
Dial Telecom officials said that they planned to take over at least 15,000 of Slovak Telecom's customers.
