Foreign tourists spent most money in the Slovak capital on accommodation, food and drinks, shopping or souvenirs, a poll made between October and December 2013 showed. The poll, conducted by the University of Economics Bratislava for the Bratislava Tourism Organisation, also found that foreign visitors spent an average of €110 per person and one day.
However, their spending on culture, events and other activities was minimum, up to three euros. Russians spent the most money in Bratislava (about €323 per a person and a day), followed by Britons, Italian, the French, and Asians. The lowest-spenders were Spaniards, Hungarians, Czechs, Poles and Americans, the SITA newswire wrote.
Most tourists came for a one-day trip, others came for vacations, visits of family and friends, and the least came for business trips. In 2013, a total of 947,730 visitors were accommodated in Bratislava; which is 15.1 percent more than the year before.
