Foreign trade ends Q1 in Sk300 million deficit

SLOVAKIA's foreign trade ended the first quarter of 2004 with a deficit of Sk300 million (€7.4 million), which Sk5.5 billion (€135.7 million) than the figure from the previous year, Slovak daily Pravda wrote.

Goods worth Sk202.2 billion (€4.98 billion) were exported from Slovakia in the first three months of 2004, which marks an annual growth by 14.7 percent.

The imports grew by 11.2 percent year-on-year, reaching Sk202.5 billion (€4.99 billion).

The trade deficit in March reached Sk1.7 billion (€41.9 million) meeting the expectations of analysts.
