Non-Slovaks won’t be allowed to buy agricultural land in Slovakia for another three years, even though the moratorium currently in place expires on April 30, Prime Minister Iveta Radičová (SDKÚ) announced after a Coalition Council meeting on Tuesday, January 11.
“We’ve agreed to pass a law extending the period during which foreigners won’t be allowed to buy agricultural land in Slovakia. It will be a three-year extension,” Radičová said, as quoted by the TASR newswire. The measure, designed to stabilise the agricultural community in Slovakia, will be presented at a government session soon, she added.
