SLOVAKIA’S Anti-Corruption Office has asked prosecutors to charge two former representatives of the Armex company over alleged illegal trading of military material to North Korea in 1998, the news wire TASR reported.
One of them is the former general director of Armex, Vitazoslav Moric, an ex-MP of the SNS nationalist party.
According to investigators, the two men should face charges of breaking regulations for handling controlled goods and technology.
If convicted, they could face a prison sentence of up to eight years.
It is alleged that Armex agreed to supply airport equipment from a third country to the Korean Chonma Trading Corporation of Pyongyang.
After the equipment arrived in Slovakia, the company registered it as civilian and tried to export it to North Korea via Ukraine, according to investigators.
