MARTIN Giertl became the new governmental proxy for the development of civic society. He will officially start his work on November 15, the SITA newswire reported.

The post was empty for nearly a year, since former proxy Filip Vagač left it on his own request. The position was established by former government of Iveta Radičová.

Giertl worked in the Charter 77 Foundation as a lawyer. According to the foundation’s website, he also worked as an expert on human rights at the Foreign Affairs Ministry. After ending the civil service in the foundation he decided to start working for it full time. He focused mostly on field work with clients and consulting to NGOs.

He also graduated from post-gradual studies of law in Oxford and Washington, SITA wrote.
