Peter Belinský, the head of the Slovak Tourism Board (SACR), told a press conference on April 3 that he will step down after 19 months in the post, the TASR reported.
"After coming to an agreement with Transport Minister Ján Figeľ I've decided to step down from my post as [SACR] general director," Belinský said.
Belinský is a member of the KDH presidium and said that his task of clearing politics from SACR has been completed.
"I'll have a rest now after this hard spell," he said without announcing that he is leaving the tourism sphere.
The new SACR chief will emerge from a public selection procedure while incoming transport minister Ján Počiatek will be expected to appoint a SACR board to deal with finding a new director. Until then SACR will be led by deputy director František Stano.
