THE SLOVAK cabinet will adjust its original highway construction plans as a result of the South-Korean carmaker Hyundai/Kia’s decision to build its new plant in Žilina.
The connection between Bratislava and Žilina will be completed by the end of 2006, three years earlier than originally planned, the Slovak daily Pravda wrote.
The total investment related to the highway construction is estimated to be Sk22 billion (€543.2 million).
At a special meeting today, the cabinet will discuss the investment contracts between Slovakia, Žilina, and Hyundai/Kia and between Slovakia, Žilina and the supplier firm Hyundai Mobis, the state-run news agency TASR wrote.
