The paper reports the SMK ethnic Hungarian party, one of four groupings in talks on forming the next cabinet, is demanding the government programme include compensation for Hungarians who were stripped of property at the end of the second world war.
The demand is likely to prove extremely controversial, as Slovak parties have said it is tantamount to challenging a series of state edicts made by Czechoslovak President Eduard Beneš after the war, known as the Beneš Decrees.
