Hurný resigns over ŠtB allegations

JÁN HURNÝ has resigned from his post as State Secretary over allegations that he was an agent for the secret service (ŠtB) during the communist era, according to the Pravda daily. It is two months since documents published on the Internet named Hurný as an ŠtB member.

Hurný denies having been an ŠtB agent, saying the main reason for his resignation is the attacks on the Prime Minister and the SDKÚ over the allegations.
