The independent MPs Juraj Droba, Martin Chren, Jozef Kollár, Daniel Krajcer and Juraj Miškov will support the convening of an extraordinary parliamentary session on recalling the Speaker of Parliament Pavol Paška, if the opposition agrees on a joint proceeding.
This stems form a statement offered to the SITA newswire by Miškov’s assistant Martina Fondrková. Individual proposals to recall the members of government and parliamentary representatives give unnecessary space, according to MPs, for criticising the opposition for its disunity, thus devaluating the well-reasoned and justified efforts to call on political responsibility concerning ministers, or other functionaries to be sacked. Opposition representatives consider Paška to be connected with the case of overpriced purchase of a CT device for the Piešťany Hospital. Paška was earlier active in the Medical Group SK which won the tender to supply the expensive device.
“A responsible approach by opposition requires to avoid individual political games and agree for such important proposals on a joint proceeding,” reads the statement, as quoted by the TASR newswire.
