Seven partner organisations involved in media, public relations, and software development are launching the NEDINE project to create an intelligent NEws DIstribution NEtwork, news wire SITA writes.
The European Commission co-finances the project, initiated by the Austrian firm pressetext.europa and involving Slovak news agency SITA, with a budget of €1.45 million.
NEDINE will provide customised information including news from across the whole continent. The multilingual system is an important feature of the project.
"Every user will get the news in his or her language," said technical project manager Markus Schranz.
Vienna and Madrid technical universities, public relations agencies HeinrichPR (Switzerland) and NewVicom (Germany), and the Czech Information Agency are also part of the consortium.
NEDINE will also investigate the possibility of widening the circle of participants to other agencies from the European Union.
