Governing-coalition LS-HZDS Chairman Vladimír Mečiar said on March 17 that he had agreed with Prime Minister Robert Fico at their meeting the day before about the new management structure at the scalndal-ridden Slovak Land Fund (SPF), the TASR newswire wrote.
"According to the agreement, the law on the institution's structure will be changed. Its bodies will be appointed by the Government based on the Agriculture Minister's proposal, and the responsibility will be born by the SPF director and their deputy. Any documents will require both their signatures, while Parliament will act as a supervisory organ," Mečiar told journalists.
He hasn't discussed personnel issues regarding SPF with Fico, but said he didn't think that the current SPF director Miloslav Šebek would stay in the position.
"This issue no longer represents a political problem," said Mečiar. "It's in the realisation stage now." TASR
