The Ministry of Transportation has published a list of six applicants who expressed interest in participating in a tender to construct and operate five stretches of the D1 highway between Žilina and Prešov, as part of the first package of public-private partnership projects.
Ministry spokeswoman Eva Benešová said that an 11-member committee is currently examining whether the applicants meet the conditions for participating in the tender.
The ministry said the interested groups are:
- A consortium of the Swedish group Skanska Infrastructure Development AB and the French company Vinci Concessions S.A.;
- the Spanish company Obrascon Huarte Lain S.A.;
- a consortium of Slovak joint stock companies Doprastav and Váhostav-SK, Bouygues Travaux Publics SA and Colas SA of France, the Hungarian company Intertoll-Europe Zrt., and the Portuguese Mota-Engil, SGPS;
- French company Eiffage Travax Publics;
- the ZPKM Consortium of Hochtief and Construction AG Slovensko;
- and the Austrian-Australian consortium consisting of Austria's Strabag AG and Porr Solutions Immobillen und Infrastructurprojekte GmbH, and the Australian Macquarie Capital Group Limited.
The deadline for bidders to submit documents proving their qualifications to meet tender participation criteria was January 8. The procurer will now shortlist a maximum of four bidders to continue in the tender.
The tender terms do not specify the estimated net value of the contract. The Transport Ministry previously said it would be Sk49.1 billion without VAT.
