THE MODERN Art Museum of Andy Warhol in Medzilaborce, eastern Slovakia, will most probably move to a different building.

Currently, the museum is located in a building belonging to the Prešov local government with annual costs of Sk2.7 million (€65,832).

The only alternative is, officials say, to move the artwork of the famous US artist of Rusyn (Ruthenian) origin into an old post office building.

The Andy Warhol Foundation, based in New York, disagrees with the move. Its vice-president, John Warhola, suggested that moving the artwork of his brother into undignified rooms might result in the withdrawal of the Warhol artwork from Slovakia.
