Érsek started his tenure as minister last week, replacing the resigning Sieť nominee Roman Brecely, after the balance of powers in the ruling coalition changed. The change stems from the internal crisis of Sieť when five MPs left for the caucus of Most-Híd. Sieť now has only two MPs in parliament, and has shown interest in merging with one of the coalition parties. After a coalition agreement, the strengthened Most-Híd takes over positions from Sieť, according to SITA.
