LABOUR and economy cabinet ministers will prepare an amendment to the social partnership law to replace the current tripartite negotiation system, which includes the government, employer, and employee representatives.
The change comes in response to Economy Minister Pavol Rusko’s demand for the abolition of tripartite, accusing the Confederation of Trade Unions of siding with political party Smer. The confederation recently announced that Smer was their natural partner and pledged to help the party prepare for the upcoming parliamentary elections.
Rusko said that the new tripartite would be based on voluntary principle and that the cabinet would decide the discussion themes.
According to the private news agency SITA, Labour Minister Ľudovít Kaník said the revision of the law would be submitted shortly.
