The parliamentary opposition has agreed to submit a proposal on the recall of Finance Minister Ivan Mikloš. However, they have not announced the exact date yet, the daily SME wrote.
"We have to be certain that all the opposition deputies are available," said Robert Fico, the leader of the opposition party Smer.
Speaker of Parliament Pavol Hrušovský is not hiding his concern that Mikloš might be recalled. He suggested that if the opposition managed to sack Mikloš, it could result in the fall of the whole cabinet of Prime Minister Mikuláš Dzurinda.
The opposition expects the support of the Free Forum (SF), a group of MPs led by former Defence Minister Ivan Šimko, who parted with Dzurinda's Slovak Democratic and Christian Union on bad terms last December.
Mikloš is seen as the mover behind major economic reforms of the rightist government and has long been the target of the opposition's criticism.
