Parliament to debate Hungarian law

The Slovak legislature today will debate a law approved by Budapest last year giving certain advantages to Hungarians living in foreign countries. Fearing the discussion may be acrimonious and hurt relations between the two states, the Bratislava government has urged parliament to wait for a deal between Slovakia and Hungary on the measure, in which the question of Slovak sovereignty over its 500,000 ethnic Hungarians would be addressed.
