Dzurinda and SF chairman Ivan Šimko are expected to meet on February 3 in an effort to find an agreement between the cabinet and the SF, which is composed of ex-members of Dzurinda's Slovak Democratic and Christian Union. The splinter party demands Dzurinda's replacement in exchange for its support of the cabinet.

Ahead of the meeting, 29 Slovak personalities have appealed to the officials to soften their stances in order to restore political stability in the government.
