For many Slovaks (around 50 percent), the dominant sources of information on the euro are television and the daily press, according to a survey published by the Statistics Office on August 26.

The survey, which was conducted at the end of July, showed that other popular sources are the public-service Slovak Radio (SRo) and friends and acquaintances (around 25 percent). Family members are the main source of information for more than 20 percent.

The most significant gains compared to a similar survey from early July were recorded by non-public-service television channels (a 12-percentage point increase), radio stations other than Slovak Radio (a 7-percentage point rise) and the daily press (a 5-percentage point increase). TASR
